હિમાચલ પ્રદેશના શિમલાના રોહરુ જિલ્લાના પારસા ગામની 25 વર્ષીય રેણુકાએ રવિવારે ટીમ બેંગ્લોરથી ઓસ્ટ્રેલિયા રવાના થયા પહેલા કહ્યું હતું કે હું આ પ્રવાસને લઈને ખૂબ જ ઉત્સાહિત છું. વરિષ્ઠ ખેલાડીઓ પાસેથી ઘણું શીખવા મળશે. ઝડપી બોલર રેણુકાને ટી 20 ટીમમાં સામેલ કરવામાં આવી છે.
જો હું આજે પિતા હોત તો મને ટીમ ઈન્ડિયામાં જોઈને ખૂબ આનંદ થયો હોત. તે ઈચ્છતો હતો કે તેનું એક બાળક ભારતીય ક્રિકેટ ટીમ માટે રમે. ભાઈ જવાબદારીઓના બોજને કારણે રમી શક્યા નહીં પરંતુ મને આટલી દૂર લઈ જવા માટે માતાનો સંપૂર્ણ સહકાર આપ્યો. માતા અને ભાઈના બલિદાન અને મારી મહેનતથી, મેં ભારતીય મહિલા ટીમમાં સ્થાન બનાવીને મારા પિતાનું સપનું પૂરું કર્યું.
હવે હું ટીમ ઈન્ડિયાની જર્સીમાં મેદાન પર ઉતરીને અને મારું શ્રેષ્ઠ પ્રદર્શન કરીને તેની અંતિમ ઈચ્છા પૂરી કરવા માંગુ છું. તે જ્યાં પણ છે, તે આ બધું જોઈને ખૂબ ખુશ થશે. જો મને ઓસ્ટ્રેલિયામાં તક મળશે તો હું મારા સો ટકા આપીશ. આ રેણુકા સિંહ ઠાકુરનું કહેવું છે, જેમણે પ્રથમ વખત ભારતીય મહિલા ક્રિકેટ ટીમમાં સ્થાન મેળવ્યું હતું.
ત્રણ વર્ષની ઉંમરે પિતાનું અવસાન થયું
રેણુકાના પિતાનું 22 વર્ષ (1999) પહેલા નિધન થયું હતું જ્યારે તે ત્રણ વર્ષની હતી. માતા સુનીતા ઠાકુરે સખત પરિશ્રમથી પોતાના પુત્ર અને પુત્રીને ભણાવ્યા એટલું જ નહીં પણ તેને પોતાના પગ પર standingભા રહેવા માટે સક્ષમ પણ બનાવ્યો. રેણુકાના પિતા કેહર ઠાકુર પી Vin વિનોદ કાંબલીના મોટા ચાહક હતા.
આ કારણે તેણે પોતાના પુત્રનું નામ પણ વિનોદ રાખ્યું. તે ઈચ્છતો હતો કે તેનો પુત્ર કે પુત્રી કાંબલીની જેમ ટીમ ઈન્ડિયા માટે રમે. પતિની ઈચ્છા પૂરી કરવા માટે સુનીતા પુત્રીને ખેતરમાં લઈ ગઈ.
સ્થાનિક સ્તરે સારું પ્રદર્શન કરનાર રેણુકાના કાકા ભૂપેન્દ્ર ઠાકુર 13 વર્ષની ઉંમરે હિમાચલ પ્રદેશ ક્રિકેટ એસોસિએશનની ધર્મશાળા એકેડમીમાં પસંદગી પામ્યા. ત્યારથી તેણે પાછું વળીને જોયું નથી.
ઇન્સ્વિંગનો માસ્ટર
કોચ પવન સેને કહ્યું કે રેણુકાની લાઈન અને લેન્થ ઉત્તમ છે. તેની ઇન્સિંગ શાનદાર છે. આનાથી ઓસ્ટ્રેલિયાની ઝડપી પીચો પર તેમને ફાયદો થશે. મને ખાતરી છે કે તે પોતાની છાપ છોડી શકશે. વર્ષ 2019 માં રેણુકા રાષ્ટ્રીય વન-ડે ટૂર્નામેન્ટમાં 23 વિકેટ લઈને પ્રસિદ્ધિમાં આવી હતી. આ પછી તેની ઇન્ડિયા એ ટીમમાં પસંદગી થઇ. તેને ઓસ્ટ્રેલિયામાં જ ઓસ્ટ્રેલિયા A સામે મેચ રમવાની તક મળી.
