મહારાષ્ટ્રના ગડચિરોલીમાં સુરક્ષા દળોએ નક્સલવાદીઓ સામે મોટો અભિયાન શરૂ કર્યું છે. શુક્રવારે સવારે કોટમી જંગલમાં સુરક્ષા દળો અને નક્સલવાદીઓની એન્કાઉન્ટર થયું હતું.

ફાયરિંગ બંધ થઈ ગયું છે અને સર્ચ ઓપરેશન હાથ ધરવામાં આવ્યું છે. અત્યાર સુધીમાં 13 નક્સલવાદીઓના મૃતદેહો મળી આવ્યા છે. પોલીસને શંકા છે કે માર્યા ગયેલા નક્સલવાદીઓમાં ઘણા મોટા કમાન્ડર હોઈ શકે છે.

નક્સલવાદીઓ વિરુદ્ધ ઓપરેશનની પુષ્ટિ આપતા આઈજી સંધી પટુલી ગોંડિયા રેન્જે જણાવ્યું હતું કે, સર્ચ ઓપરેશન હજુ પણ હાથ ધરવામાં આવી રહ્યું છે.

સુરક્ષા દળોને આશંકા છે કે ઘણા નક્સલવાદીઓ હજી પણ કોટમી જંગલમાં છુપાયેલા છે, તેથી સર્ચ ઓપરેશન ખૂબ જ ચેતવણી સાથે હાથ ધરવામાં આવ્યું છે.
