રાજસ્થાનનાં અલવરનાં અલાવડાની પાસે ચોમા ગામમાં એક પાર્ક કરેલા ટ્રકમાં આગ લાગી હતી. આ દુર્ઘટનામાં 4 નિર્દોષ બાળકો જીવતા આગની જ્વાળાઓમાં આવી ગયા હતા. બાળકોને ગંભીર હાલતમાં હોસ્પિટલ અર્થે ખસેડાયા હતા. ત્યાં હોસ્પિટલ પહોંચતા પહેલા 3 બોળકોનાં મોત નીપજ્યાં હતા, જ્યારે 1 બાળકે રવિવારનાં રોજ હોસ્પિટલમાં અંતિમ શ્વાસ લીધા હતા. આ દુર્ઘટના શનિવારનાં રોજ પરિણમી હતી, જેના પરિણામે ચારેય બાળકોનાં પરિવારનાં સભ્યો અત્યારે ઘણાં ભાવુક જણાઈ રહ્યા છે. ટ્રકમાં લાગેલી આગનાં કારણે 2 સગા ભાઈઓએ જીવ ગુમાવ્યો હતો.

આ ઘટનાનાં સમયે બાળકો એમના મામાનાં ટ્રકમાં રમી રહ્યા હતા. જે આ ટ્રકને પાર્ક કરીને પોતે ગોવિંદગઢનાં બરોલી ખાતે અંગત કારણોસર ગયા હતા. પાછળથી એમના ભાણીયાઓ આ ટ્રકની કેબિનમાં રમવા માટે આવી પહોંચ્યા હતા. આ સમયે નિર્દોષ બાળકોએ કેબિનમાં વિવિધ ઉપકરણો અને વાયરો સાથે રમવાનું શરૂ કરી દીધું હતું, જેના પરિણામે ટ્રકમાં શોર્ટ સર્કિટનાં કારણે આગ લાગી ગઈ હતી. પ્રાથમિક અનુમાન એમ લગાવાઈ રહ્યું છે કે ટ્રકમાં પેટ્રોલ કેન હોવાથી આગ લાગી હતી, જોકે આ વાતની હજુ પુષ્ટી કરવામાં આવી નથી.

આગ લાગવાને કારણે બાળકો કેબિનનું બારણું ખોલી શક્યા નહોતા અને આગની જ્વાળાઓનાં ધુમાડાને કારણે અંદર જ બેભાન થઈ ગયા હતા. ધુમાડાને જોઈને ગામનાં લોકોએ પાણી અને માટીથી આગને બુઝાવી હતી, પરંતુ ત્યાં સુધી બાળકો 80 ટકાથી વધુ દાઝી ગયા હતા. ગ્રામજનો એ બાળકોને ટ્રકની બહાર નિકાળ્યાં હતા.

2 બાળકોને જિલ્લા હોસ્પિટલથી જયપુર મોકલવામાં આવ્યા હતા, જ્યાં એમણે રસ્તામાંજ અંતિમ શ્વાસ લીધા હતા. બાકીનાં 2 બાળકો અલવરની ખાનગી હોસ્પિટલમાં દાખલ કરાયા હતા. જેમાંથી 1 બાળકનું મોત નીપજ્યું હતું. રવિવારે સવારે સારવાર દરમિયાન છેલ્લા નિર્દોષ બાળકે પણ જીવ ગુમાવ્યો હતો. આ ઘટનાની જાણ થતાં પોલીસ અને સ્થાનિક અધિકારીઓ પણ સ્થળ પર પહોંચી ગયા હતા.
