ગૃહમંત્રી અમિત શાહ સ્થિતી પર નજર રાખી છે. તૌકતેને લઈને અમિત શાહે સીએમ વિજય રૂપાણી સાથે વાત કરી સ્થિતિ અંગે જાણ મેળવી હતી છે. સાથે જ તેમણે અમિત શાહે રાજસ્થાન-મહારાષ્ટ્રના સીએમ સાથે પણ વાતચીત કરી હતી. ગઇકાલે રાતથી જ ગુજરાત રાજ્યમાં પ્રવેશ્યા બાદ વાવાઝોડું આખા રાજ્યને ઘમરોળી રહ્યું છે. સોમવારે રાત્રે 9 વાગ્યાની આસપાસ તૌકતે વાવાઝોડાએ ગુજરાતને ટક્કર મારી અને તેજીથી ગુજરાતમાં આગળ વધ્યું.
સૌથી વધારે અસર દીવ, અમરેલી, જૂનાગઢ તથા ગીર સોમનાથ જિલ્લામાં જોવા મળી છે. આખી રાત દીવમાં અતિભારે વરસાદ વરસતો રહ્યો. ગુજરાત પર તૌકતે આફત બનીને ત્રાટક્યું છે. નોંધનીય છે કે સોમવારે રાજ્યમાં પ્રવેશ બાદ ધીમે ધીમે વાવાઝોડાની ગતિમાં ઘટાડો થઈ રહ્યો છે. વેરાવળ અને સોમનાથમાં પણ વાવાઝોડાએ તારાજી સર્જી છે. વાવાઝોડા સાથે અનેક વૃક્ષો ધરાશાયી થઈ જવાની ઘટનાઓ સામે આવી છે. સોમનાથ બાદ સૌથી વધારે નુકસાન રાજુલા અને જાફરાબાદમાં થી છે.
રાજુલાથી સાવરકુંડલા જવાનો રસ્તો પણ બંધ થઈ ગયો હતો અને વૃક્ષો પડી જતાં રાજુલાથી ભાવનગરનો રસ્તો પણ બંધ હતો. રાજુલામાં 175 કિમી પ્રતિ કલાકની ઝડપે પવન ફૂંકાયો હતો. ઉના અને ગીરમાં અનેક ગામો સંપરવિહોણા બન્યા છે. સોમનાથ, વેરાવળ, ઉનામાં 130 કિલોમીટર સુધીની પવનની ઝડપ જોવા મળી હતી. દીવમાં વાવાઝોડાએ ભયંકર તબાહી મચાવી છે. દીવમાં ભારે પવન સાથે આખી રાત ભયંકર જળબંબાકાર જેવી સ્થિતિ રહી હતી જેના કારણે લોકોમાં દહેશતનો માહોલ જોવા મળ્યો હતો.
