ન્યુઝીલેન્ડ ક્રિકેટ બોર્ડે સરકારની સુરક્ષા ચેતવણી બાદ પાકિસ્તાન પ્રવાસ રદ કરવાનો નિર્ણય કર્યો હતો. પીસીબીએ આ નિર્ણયને એકતરફી નિર્ણય ગણાવ્યો છે.
પાકિસ્તાન અને ન્યુઝીલેન્ડ વચ્ચે શુક્રવારથી શરૂ થનારી વન-ડે શ્રેણી પહેલા જ ન્યુઝીલેન્ડ ક્રિકેટ બોર્ડે સરકારની સુરક્ષા ચેતવણી બાદ પ્રવાસ રદ કરવાનો નિર્ણય કર્યો હતો. બોર્ડે આ નિર્ણયને પાકિસ્તાન ક્રિકેટ બોર્ડ (PCB) નો એકતરફી નિર્ણય ગણાવ્યો છે. પીસીબીએ એક નિવેદન જારી કરીને કહ્યું કે ન્યૂઝીલેન્ડે શ્રેણી મુલતવી રાખવાનો એકપક્ષીય નિર્ણય લીધો છે.

બોર્ડે કહ્યું કે, “પીસીબી અને પાકિસ્તાન સરકાર તમામ મુલાકાતી ટીમો માટે વિસ્તૃત સુરક્ષા વ્યવસ્થા કરે છે.” અમે ન્યૂઝીલેન્ડ ક્રિકેટને પણ આ અંગે ખાતરી આપી હતી. પીસીબીએ જણાવ્યું હતું કે, પાકિસ્તાનના વડા પ્રધાન ઇમરાન ખાને ન્યૂઝીલેન્ડના વડા પ્રધાન જેસિન્ડા આર્ડર્ન સાથે વાત કરી હતી અને તેમને ખાતરી આપી હતી કે અમારી પાસે વિશ્વની શ્રેષ્ઠ ગુપ્તચર વ્યવસ્થા છે અને મુલાકાતી ટીમને કોઇપણ પ્રકારનો સુરક્ષા ખતરો નથી.
