સત્તાવાર સૂત્રો પાસેથી પ્રાપ્ત માહિતી અનુસાર, વડા પ્રધાન સવારે 9.30 વાગ્યે દિલ્હીથી સીધા ભાવનગર પહોંચશે. અહીંથી, તે હેલિકોપ્ટર દ્વારા દીવ, ઝફરાબાદ અને મહુવા વિસ્તારનો હવાઈ સર્વે કરશે અને નુકસાનનો સ્ટોક લેશે.અધિકારીઓના મતે, તેઓ અમદાવાદમાં સમીક્ષા બેઠક પણ કરશે. દમણ અને દીવનો કેન્દ્રશાસિત પ્રદેશ બે જિલ્લાઓ (દમણ અને દીવ) નો સમાવેશ કરે છે.
બંને જિલ્લાઓ ભારતના પશ્ચિમ ઘાટ પર આશરે 700 કિ.મી.ના અંતરે સ્થિત છે. દમણ આ કેન્દ્રશાસિત ક્ષેત્રનું મુખ્ય મથક છે. દમણ મુખ્ય ભૂમિ પર આવેલું છે જ્યારે દીવ એક ટાપુ છે.નોંધનીય છે કે ચક્રવાત “ટાઉ તાય” ની ઘટનાઓથી ગુજરાતમાં ઓછામાં ઓછા સાત લોકોએ પોતાનો જીવ ગુમાવ્યો હતો,
જેના કારણે દરિયાકાંઠાના વિસ્તારોમાં વીજ થાંભલાઓ અને ઝાડ અને ઘણા મકાનો અને રસ્તાઓને પણ નુકસાન પહોંચ્યું હતું. થઇ ગયું, પૂર્ણ થઇ ગયું,ભારતના હવામાન વિભાગ (આઇએમડી) એ જણાવ્યું હતું કે આ સફર હવે “ચક્રવાતી તોફાન” માં બદલાઈ ગઈ છે અને તે ઉત્તર દિશા તરફ આગળ વધતા તે દબાણ માં ફેરવાશે.
ચક્રવાતને કારણે રાજ્યના ઘણા ભાગોમાં ભારે વરસાદ થયો હતો અને લગભગ 35 તાલુકાઓમાં એક ઇંચથી વધુ વરસાદ પડ્યો હતો. ભારે વરસાદને કારણે અમદાવાદના ઘણા વિસ્તારો દિવસ દરમિયાન ઘૂંટણ સુધી છલકાઇ ગયા હતા.
