બોલિવૂડની જાણીતી અભિનેત્રી નરગીસને 40 વર્ષથી વધુ સમય થઈ ગયો છે. પરંતુ તે હજુ પણ તેની યાદગાર ફિલ્મો માટે યાદ કરવામાં આવે છે. સુનીલ દત્તની કારકિર્દી તે સમયે જ શરૂ થઈ હતી જ્યારે તે બોલિવૂડની સફળ અભિનેત્રી હતી. બંનેની મુલાકાત 1957માં આવેલી ફિલ્મ ‘મધર ઈન્ડિયા’ના સેટ પર થઈ હતી. આ પછી શૂટિંગની સાથે જ બંને એકબીજાના પ્રેમમાં પડી ગયા. બંનેએ 1958માં એકબીજા સાથે લગ્ન કર્યા હતા. તેમના લગ્ન સંબંધી એક કિસ્સો ખૂબ જ પ્રખ્યાત છે. વાસ્તવમાં સુનીલ દત્ત નરગીસ માટે સાડીઓ ખૂબ રસપૂર્વક ખરીદતા હતા. પરંતુ નરગીસે ​​આપેલી એક પણ સાડી પહેરી ન હતી. જાણો નરગીસે ​​તે સાડીઓ ન પહેરવાનું કારણ શું હતું?

સુનીલ દત્તને નરગીસ સાથે ખૂબ પ્રેમ હતો. તે જ્યાં પણ ગયો ત્યાં નરગીસ માટે સાડી લાવવાનું ભૂલ્યો નહીં. પરંતુ નરગીસ એ સાડીઓને ચુંબન કરીને કબાટમાં રાખતી હતી.

એકવાર સુનીલ દત્તે નરગીસને તેની લાઈ સાડી અલમારીમાં રાખતા જોઈ, તેણે નરગીસને પૂછ્યું કે તે તેની પાસેથી એક પણ સાડી કેમ નથી પહેરતી. શા માટે તેમની લાઈ બધી સાડીઓ અલમારીમાં શણગારેલી રાખે છે?

નરગીસે ​​જવાબ આપ્યો
નરગીસે ​​સુનીલ દત્ત પર હસીને કહ્યું કે તે જે સાડીઓ લાવે છે તે તેને પસંદ નથી. હું તેમને ચુંબન કરું છું કારણ કે તેઓ તમારા દ્વારા આપવામાં આવ્યા હતા. આ કહેતાં સુનીલ દત્ત હસી પડે છે.

નરગીસ અને સુનીલ દત્તના 3 બાળકો
લગ્ન પછી બંનેને ત્રણ સંતાનો થયા, સંજય દત્ત, પ્રિયા દત્ત અને નમ્રતા. લગ્નના 23 વર્ષ બાદ નરગીસને સ્વાદુપિંડનું કેન્સર હોવાનું નિદાન થયું હતું. લાંબી સારવાર છતાં 3 મે, 1981ના રોજ નરગીસનું અવસાન થયું.
