મ્યુકરમાઈકોસિસને લઈને એક હાઈ લેવલ વીડિયો કોન્ફરન્સ બુધવારે મોડી રાત્રે રાખવામાં આવી હતી જેમાં એઈમ્સના ડિરેક્ટર ડો.ગુલેરિયા સહિતના નિષ્ણાતો તેમજ સમગ્ર દેશના અગ્રણી તબીબો, ગુજરાતના આરોગ્ય સચિવ ડો. જયંતી રવિ તેમજ સિવિલ હોસ્પિટલના તમામ અધિક્ષકો હતા.

આ બેઠક વિશે રાજકોટ સિવિલ હોસ્પિટલના અધિક્ષકે જણાવ્યું હતું કે, અલગ અલગ પ્રેઝેન્ટેશન આવ્યા હતા જેમાં જોવા મળ્યું હતું કે, દેશમાં સૌથી વધુ કેસ ગુજરાતમાં નોંધાયા છે અને તેમાં પણ સૌથી વધુ મ્યુકરમાઈકોસિસના કેસ રાજકોટમાં દાખલ થઈ રહ્યા છે. બેઠક ચાલી રહી હતી તે સ્થિતિએ રાજકોટમાં મ્યુકરના 212 કેસ દાખલ હતા હવે દરરોજ 50 નવા કેસ દાખલ થવાની શક્યતા છે. ગુજરાતમાં માત્ર બે જિલ્લા રાજકોટ અને અમદાવાદમાં જ મ્યુકરમાઈકોસિસના કેસ 3 આંકડામાં નોંધાઈ રહ્યા છે.

આ મામલે ડો.ગુલેરિયાએ નોંધ લીધી હતી અને રાજકોટમાં થઈ રહેલા પ્રયાસો વિશે જોતા તેમણે સૌથી પહેલા મ્યુકર વોર્ડ શરૂ કરવા, સર્જરી શરૂ કરવા તેમજ ઈન્જેક્શનનો જથ્થો મેળવવા મામલે તંત્રના વખાણ કર્યા હતા અને કહ્યું હતું કે,

સૌથી વધુ કેસ રાજકોટમાં આવી રહ્યા છે પણ આ રોગ સામે લડવા જે આઈસીએમઆરએ ગાઈડલાઈન બનાવી છે તેમાં પણ 4 તબીબનો મહત્ત્વનો ફાળો છે તેથી રાજકોટને સમગ્ર દેશમાં મ્યુકરની સારવાર માટે રોલ મોડેલ બનાવવું જોઈએ અને તે માટે જે પણ મદદ જોશે તે તમામ સ્તરેથી મળી રહેશે અને માર્ગદર્શન પણ મળી રહેશે.

ડો. આર.એસ. ત્રિવેદી રાજકોટમાં વધતા મ્યુકરમાઈકોસિસના કેસ વિશે જણાવે છે કે, રાજકોટ સૌરાષ્ટ્રના કેન્દ્ર સમાન છે અને દરેક જિલ્લાના દર્દીઓ રાજકોટ આવી રહ્યા છે. આ ઉપરાંત બરોડાથી પણ દર્દીઓ આવી રહ્યા છે આ કારણે કેસ વધી રહ્યા છે. બીજી તરફ રાજકોટ એકમાત્ર એવું શહેર છે જ્યાં સૌથી પહેલા મ્યુકરમાઈકોસિસ વોર્ડ શરૂ કરાયો તેમજ સર્જરી શરૂ થઈ હતી તેમજ આગોતરી તૈયારી કરીને ઈન્જેક્શનનો જથ્થો પણ મેળવી લેવાયો હતો.
